After taking over his washing baskets and pots and pans with chopsticks, his parents bought him a drum kit for his 4th birthday where his love of percussion took off. After discovering music production at age 12, he began studying the works of artists such as Charlie Puth, Adele, Mark Ronson, Bruno Mars and applied his multi-instrumental knowledge to craft his own songs. In beginning high school, a creative outlet and escape for Ashton was to create songs every night during the week and perform his favourite on the weekend in his room or busking in Adelaide city. In grade 9, he released his first single ‘Adrenaline’ and through support from his friends and family his song was shared throughout the community. Throughout the COVID-19 lockdown and completing grade 10, Ashton created and released his first independent album at age 15. This album lead him to be nominated for best pop artist at the South Australia Music Awards in 2020. After finishing high school at age 17, Ashton was the winner of the 2022 Australian Society of Music Education for his Pop/Rock song ‘Ella’.

After playing shows across Australia this past year, Ashton has been writing and recording new music midst playing his latest EP on his ‘About Now Tour’.
